This beginner level, round trip journey starts and ends in the heart of downtown Napa. Encompassing approximately 55 miles, the Napa River was once the third busiest commercial river in California. It is now a defining natural feature of the City and home to one of the most biologically diverse regions in the San Francisco Bay Area. A single deep channel runs directly through the heart of downtown Napa, offering a quiet, scenic setting, with seasonally warmer weather than you will find anywhere else on the water this close to San Francisco.

In this adventure, glide along reed-lined shores and restored saltwater wetlands on our most popular tour that winds through the Napa River Oxbow Nature Preserve. Paddlers will gain access to this rare 13 acre river habitat from the water, home to native plants and trees, scrambling squirrels, turtles, otters, mink, a variety of waterfowl and once endangered California Split-tail bait fish (Fall season), Steelhead and Salmon. Your knowledgeable guide will teach you the basics of paddling and water safety prior to launch and you will leave town with an unforgettable experience of Napa’s wine country.

After about 2 hours on the water, your group will enjoy a delicious Wine Country Picnic, which includes gourmet sandwiches or salads, cookies and soft drinks.
